I had the pleasure of working with Planet Hex productions on the poster for their next film! The Taking Tree is a thrilling twist on the children's book "A Giving Tree," which we paid homage to in the design of this piece.

We wanted to balance a feeling of allure with something more sinister, seen in the contrast between warmer colors and the gnarly shapes of the branches.

I pulled from my love for vintage novels and the classic Goosebumps covers to create a worn book cover look for this movie poster. One of the more satisfying feats in digital illustration is creating a sense of material in the finished work, so painting these slight creases and wear along the edges felt great.
