A fun "then and now" sketch comparison, separated by some 23 years.
One of the first characters I ever sketched, and which inaugurated my love for the craft, was Link from The Legend of Zelda series. I drew dozens of iterations almost exactly as you see him here—triangle eyes and all—practically copy and pasted across as much printer paper I was allowed.
On some sheets, I'd doodle all the weapons and items from the games (mostly of the N64 era), with some uh...creative liberties taken in spelling. 😆
This most recent attempt marks some marginal improvement (I hope), reimagining a Link that never left the Kokiri Forest, and grew to be a wild ranger of sorts; protector of that land.
